The Lockport Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division II recently made a donation to the "Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive" in the form of a check for that was made out to NYSEG to be used toward covering the cost of electricity for the fundraiser.

The drive runs from Nov. 1 to Dec.1 and the peanut butter and jelly that is collected will then be distributed throughout food pantries in Niagara County.

Representing the Lockport LAOH are Teresa Kearns (president of the division) and Susan Griffith (chairman of missions and charities for the division).

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is a sisterhood of Irish and Irish-American, Catholic women who enjoy helping communities along and fostering the ideals and perpetuating the history and traditions of the Irish people while promoting Irish culture. The LAOH motto of "Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity" bonds members together in both faith and heritage.

Some of the charities LAOH helps include the WNY Challenger Sports League, the Mother's Day Breast Cancer Walk and St. John's food pantry.
