'Where in the World is Matt Lauer?'

He's logged 248,166 miles, visited 46 different destinations, traveled by airplane, zip line, camel and gondola, and said hello to America in 24 languages. Starting Monday, Nov. 7, on NBC's "Today," Americans can once again ponder one of television's greatest mysteries: "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?"

This year's trip marks the tenth anniversary of "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" The weeklong expedition will cover five amazing locations around the globe in five days. Following the tradition of the series, Ann Curry, Al Roker and Natalie Morales, as well as millions of viewers at home, will have no idea where Lauer will be each day until he appears live on the air at 7 a.m. Lauer's past trips have taken him to such exotic locales as a Buddhist temple in Laos, the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan, the Cliffs of Moher in Galway, the mysterious Easter Island, the Pyramids in Egypt, the Taj Mahal in India and The Great Wall of China.

TODAY.com is featuring a complete "Where in the World" archive for fans who want to relive Matt's previous nine trips around the globe. At www.TODAY.com/WhereInTheWorld, users can interact with past videos, photos and stories to get ready for this year's adventure. During the series, viewers are encouraged to log on to TODAY.com for travel tips, spectacular photos of the locations, and behind-the-scenes stories about the making of "Where in the World" from "Today" correspondents and producers.

For the first time ever, through the use of social media including Facebook and Twitter, "Today" viewers will be able to unlock an extra clue, in addition to a daily on-air clue, to guess Lauer's whereabouts each day. Viewers can participate in the online guessing game on TODAY.com beginning Nov. 4.

"Today" will send one lucky viewer and a guest to their choice of one of Lauer's 2011 destinations to celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" From Oct. 24 through Nov. 8, viewers can log onto TODAY.com for a chance to win the "Where in the World Will Today Send You?" sweepstakes. The winner will be announced Nov. 11. Entries are limited to one per day per person.

Over the course of the past journeys, "Today's" critically acclaimed "Where in the World" series has landed Lauer in virtually every corner of the globe - including The Seychelles, Argentina, Amsterdam, Cape Town, Dubai, Panama, Shanghai, Innsbruck, Dubrovnik, Botswana, Hong Kong, Moscow, Venice, Athens, Sydney, Mount Everest, Rome, The U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt on patrols in the Mediterranean, an active volcano in Hawaii, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Pisa, Florence, Bilbao, the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, Machu Pichu in Peru, an oil rig off the coast of Scotland, Paris, Bangkok, Mykonos, Rio de Janeiro, Marrakech, Skibo Castle in Scotland, Angkor Wat, Monte Carlo and Cannes.
