Buffalo Bisons Manager Tim Teufel joined Dunkin' Donuts franchisees Thursday night to donate 312 pounds of coffee to the Food Bank of Western New York. The donation - the equivalent of 15,600 cups of coffee - was fueled by a season-long partnership between the team and Dunkin' Donuts.

During the 2011 season, Dunkin' Donuts pledged to donate one pound of coffee to the Food Bank of Western New York for every run scored at home by the Bisons. The Bisons scored a total of 271 runs at home this season, generating the equivalent number of pounds of Dunkin' Donuts coffee for the food bank.

Dunkin' Donuts and its Western New York franchisees stepped up to the plate with an additional donation to bring the final tally to 13 cases, or 312 pounds, of coffee for the food bank.

"Our partnership with the Buffalo Bisons is designed to capture the excitement of each run and turn it into a tangible benefit for the Food Bank of Western New York," said Eric Stensland, upstate New York field marketing manager for Dunkin' Donuts. "The Bisons did a terrific job this season and we wanted to supplement the amount they earned for the food bank with an additional donation of coffee."

"Many of us look forward to a cup of coffee each morning and see it as an essential part of starting our day," said Marylou Barowiak, president and CEO of the Food Bank of Western New York. "We are extremely grateful that Dunkin' Donuts and the Buffalo Bisons teamed up to give back to our food bank. Now we can provide coffee for thousands of residents in need throughout our area."

The Food Bank of Western New York is a non-profit agency that collects and distributes food to its 400 member agencies in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. The organization distributes more than one million pounds of food per month, assisting nearly 100,000 people in need, including 39,000 children and 11,000 seniors.

"The Buffalo Bisons are proud to take part in this outstanding initiative to benefit the Food Bank of Western New York," said Teufel. "Our organization is deeply committed to giving back to our fans and to the community at large. Dunkin' Donuts has been a great partner and we applaud its commitment to the Food Bank and those it serves."
