The New York State Funeral Directors Association will host its annual statewide convention in Niagara Falls from Aug. 14-17.

The convention, which has been assisted by the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp., will bring 325 funeral directors, guests and exhibitors to Niagara USA. The convention will be held at The Conference Center Niagara Falls, and approximately 321 room nights were booked at the Sheraton at the Falls. In total, more than 600 people are expected to be in attendance, resulting in an estimated economic impact of $345,600 over the duration of the conference.

"The NTCC continues to work diligently to secure the meetings and conference market segment and welcomes these statewide associations to Niagara USA," said John H. Percy, president and CEO of the NTCC. "We are pleased the NYS Funeral Directors Association has decided to host their annual convention in Niagara USA, as the economic impact garnered from this market segment serves as a tremendous benefit to the hospitality and tourism industry in Niagara Falls."

In addition, NTCC greeters will be available manning a booth to answer any tourism related questions attendees may have while in Niagara USA.

During their stay, attendees will experience "Dinner, Dancing and Fireworks" at the Top of the Falls restaurant on Aug. 14 and conclude with a Niagara Wine Trail tour and lunch on Aug. 17.

The New York State Funeral Directors Association is the oldest association of funeral directors in the U.S. NYSDFA represents 3,000 funeral directors across New York and, for the first time, is bringing its annual convention to Niagara USA.
