Ransomville Fire Co. annual Summer Raffle set for Aug. 6

The Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. announces its fifth annual Summer Raffle will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, at the firehall, 2521 Youngstown-Lockport Road.

The event runs from 4 to 11 p.m., and admission is free.

Main prizes in the raffle include: jewelry selections by Firth's Jewelers; an LCD flat screen TV; two adult bicycles; a Salvatore's Italian Garden Hotel package; a Blue-Ray/DVD system; $250 Walmart gift card; two 100 level tickets to a Buffalo Sabres game; a gas grill with tank; a Cloy's Meats gift box; a color Nook E-Reader; a DeWalt cordless tools package; an Xbox 360 plus Kinect game System, and an Apple iPad.

The fire company reports a number of the prizes offered and tickets are provided with sponsorship by Stevenson's Hardware.

The day also includes a number of activities. A kids bounce house, inflatable slide and playground will be on the grounds and Niagara Climbing Center's rock wall will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.

Horse and carriage rides will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. and a Chinese auction will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.

Foods include hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers, sausage, corn on the cob and refreshments. A beer and wine tent will also be on site.

Entertainment will feature DJ "Beamin Sounds" from 7 to 11 p.m., and at 10 p.m. there will be fireworks by "Skylighters."

Entrance to the fire company grounds is free and open to the public throughout the day and residents are invited to stop by.
