The Erie County Legislature issued a proclamation to Tommy C. Seay Sr. of Grand Island, founder and director of Unveiling Ministries, upon the publication of Seay's second book, "A Purposeful Life in Dual Dimensions: Unveiling the Mystery of the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ." The legislature congratulated Seay, pictured above with the legislature's proclamation, on the publication of the book and wished him "the very best in his ongoing spiritual endeavors that are a source of inspiration and education to the Christian community in Erie County."

Seay is also pictured above speaking to the legislature during the meeting in which he was honored.

Maj. Gen. Patrick A. Murphy, the adjutant general for the state of New York, has announced the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capabilities for additional responsibility and leadership.

Vanessa Banks from Grand Island, serving with the Company D (Forward Support Company Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition), 427th Brigade Support Battalion, has been promoted to the rank of private first class.

David DiTullio from Grand Island, serving with the Troop C 2-101 Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition), has been promoted to the rank of sergeant first class.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

These promotions additionally recognize the best qualified soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber citizen soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
