Wilson was the site of the second annual "Amazing Race" on Friday, June 17. The sleepy village of Wilson was filled with the sound of pounding feet and laughter as 15 six-person teams fanned out to face challenges involving mental and physical skills as well as conquering inner fears.
After hot dogs and soft drinks at the Wilson First Baptist Church on Petit Street, the contestants raced off into the village, already having been given their first destination. After completing the challenge at their first stop, they would learn where their next stop would be.
After completing all the challenges, the first team back to the church was the winner.
Everyone involved had a blast and planning has already begun for an expanded and even more fun event next year. (photo by Wayne Peters)
