Holiday Inn hosts Bridal Spectacular Sunday

Those about to marry can plan their big day in just one afternoon at the Holiday Inn Grand Island this weekend.

The 2011 Bridal Spectacular will take place Sunday, June 26, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the hotel, located at 100 Whitehaven Road. Teresa Costello, director of sales at the Holiday Inn, said brides-to-be can plan their entire wedding at the event thanks to a trade show featuring vendors selling such wedding necessities as limousine rides, new ideas for wedding decor, and photography services. A bridal and tuxedo and fashion show begins at 1:30 p.m. as well.

"There are things here every bride is looking for. You really could plan it all in one day," Costello said. The hotel is looking to host two bridal events a year, with Sunday "the first of many with our new management company."

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the event will run until 3:30 p.m., Costello said. Door prizes and giveaways include an all-inclusive honeymoon from Everlasting Memories, a $500 gift basket from event co-sponsor WNY Wedding Guide, and a $2,500 gift certificate for a future wedding at the Holiday Inn. Winners must be present to win.

Men may be outnumbered by 2-to-1 at the show, Costello said, but they shouldn't let that discourage them from attending.

"Really, there's no reason that the grooms shouldn't come too. It's their day as well," she said.
