The public is invited to attend a free presentation on Sunday, June 26, at Bond Lake by the WNY Herpetological Society titled "Reptiles in WNY."

Have you ever wondered if the snakes you come across are really dangerous to you and your family? Did you know that in 2006 the snapping turtle was declared the official reptile of the state?  Can you tell the difference between a turtle and a tortoise and what foods each prefers to eat?  Do you know what reptiles the New York State Legislature has declared dangerous and that you are not allowed to possess without a permit?  Most of your questions can be answered at this presentation.

This event will be held indoors in the Nature Center at the rear of Bond Lake Park Warming House on Lower Mountain Road in Lewiston from 1 to 3 p.m. It is sponsored by the Bond Lake Park Environmental and Beautification Committee. For more information, call Carol at 694-3488.
