Gleason's team competes in Stumpf's

Gleason's Gymnastics' Niagara Frontier level five team recently participated in the Stumpf's Anniversary Meet in Williamsville.   

In the 7-9 age group, Jenna Peterson, a fourth-grader at Errick Road Elementary, placed third all around for her age group with an overall score of 35.85. Peterson placed first on beam with a high score of 9.3. She also placed first on vault, third on floor and fourth on bars.

Marissa Peters, a third-grader at Starpoint, had an all-around score of 32.75. She scored an 8.5 on vault and an 8.325 on beam.

For the 11-year-old age group, Samantha Cirrito, a fifth-grader at West Street, placed third all around with an overall score of 36.275. Her high score of 9.45 came on bars, which earned her first place. Cirrito also placed second on beam and fifth on floor and vault.

Maddie Walton, a sixth-grader at Edward Town Middle School, placed fifth all around with a score of 35.05.  Walton earned a 9.5 on beam, which earned her first place and was the highest score of everyone that competed in the meet. She also placed third on floor.

Erica Weber, a fifth-grader at West Street, had an all around score of 33.825. She earned a 9.0 on vault, which gave her third place. She also placed fifth on bars.

In the 12-and-up group, Samantha Peterson, a seventh-grader at Edward Town Middle School, placed fourth all around with a score of 34.7.  Her high score of the 9.4 came on bars, which earned her first place for the event. She also placed fourth on beam and vault and fifth on floor.

This was the last regular season meet for the team. Some of the girls from the team qualified for the state championship meet, including Jenna Peterson, Stephanie Fraizer, Kelsey Sciandra, Cirrito, Walton and Samantha Peterson.
