Mount St. Mary's Hospital to present series of health education programs in June

Free prostate screening at Mount St. Mary's

Mount St. Mary's Hospital will present a series of programs in June as part of its health education program and event series.

On Thursday, June 2, "Taking Charge of Your Diabetes" will be presented by Debra Hoffman, certified diabetes educator. This all-day session runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will be held in Room 249 of the main hospital building. To register, call 298-2297.

On Friday, June 3 Upstate New York Transplant Services will conduct a community blood drive from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Room 249 of the main hospital building. Appointments are accepted at 298-2144. Walk-ins are welcome.

The week of June 13-18 will feature a free "PSA Prostate Screening Program." Sponsored by the hospital's board of associates volunteers, the "Father's Day Gift of Life and Love" will be open Monday through Friday from noon until 5 p.m., and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to noon, in the hospital's north outpatient lobby. No appointments are necessary and this is not a fasting test. Results will be forwarded to your physician.

On Tuesday, June 14, Health For All Seasons will present "Counting Your Carbohydrates" from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 249. The program will be presented by Hoffman and will focus on promoting healthy eating behaviors to families with children. Register at 298-2297.
