New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed a landmark power-for-jobs bill, "Recharge New York," in North Tonawanda Thursday with dozens of local leaders in attendance.
A virtual "who's who" of Niagara County was present, including Sen. George D. Maziarz, R-Newfane, who authored the Recharge New York bill; Assemblyman Jim Hayes, R-Amherst; Assemblyman Robin Schimminger, D-Kenmore; County Legislator Paul B. Wojtaszek, R-North Tonawanda; County Legislator Russ Rizzo, R-North Tonawanda; County Treasurer Kyle R. Andrews; County Sheriff James R. Voutour; Mayor Robert G. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda; Mayor Michael W. Tucker, R-Lockport; Clerk-Treasurer Scott P. Kiedrowski, R-North Tonawanda; the entire North Tonawanda Common Council; Lockport Common Council President Richelle Pasceri, R-1st Ward; Niagara County Industrial Development Agency Chairman Henry M. Sloma; Niagara County Commissioner of Economic Development Sam Ferraro; officials of the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce; and various other dignitaries.
