Lewiston Police Blotter for April 2, 2011

The following activity occurred Monday, March 21, to Sunday, March 27, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. A total of 76 calls were answered by LPD during this period.

Monday, March 21

•5800 block of Garlow Road, possible domestic. Patrol spoke with a 40-year-old female and a 16-year-old female juvenile. No further details.

•400 block of Mohawk Street, assist EMS. Patrol reports gaining entry into the residence; Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. on location.

•While on patrol, juvenile complaint. A resident on North Eighth Street advised patrol of ongoing juvenile problems and requested extra passes in the area.

•LPD office, domestic incident. Statement taken from a 38-year-old female regarding a male suspect. No charges requested; complainant just wanted the incident documented. Domestic Incident Report and patrol's report both filed.

•200 block of Portage Road, suspicious person. Party located at a nearby Laundromat. U.S. Border Patrol contacted to assist with a language barrier.

•4200 block of Dickersonville Road, grand larceny. Statement taken from a 62-year-old male who reported that an unknown person stole approximately $2,600 in hand tools/power tools. Niagara County Sheriff's Office ID Unit on location. Investigation to continue. Report filed.

•700 block of Upper Mountain Road, suspicious vehicle. Patrol located three vehicles in the area and advised all parties involved that if National Grid should seek reimbursement for yard damages, they would be held responsible.

•900 block of Center Street, hit-run. Statement taken from the driver. Patrol determined that the vehicle struck was not in the location specified. Patrol cleared.

•South Eighth and Center streets, reckless driver. Patrol advised of a blue Volvo that was "all over the road." Vehicle gone on patrol's arrival.

Tuesday, March 22

•800 block of Cayuga Street, alarm response. Patrol responded to a gas/convenience business. All OK; call reported as avoidable.

•800 block of Center Street, criminal mischief complaint. Statement taken from a 40-year-old male who reported damage to a building. Report filed.

•1400 block of Pletcher Road, assist EMS at a hydroponics facility. Patrol reported Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. took one male to Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center.

•1600 block of Upper Mountain Road, civil matter. Patrol spoke with a 30-year-old female; no further details. Report filed.

•Ridge Road, two reckless driver calls. On first response the driver was gone on patrol's arrival. Second response the vehicle was located. Plate number listed and unspecified uniform traffic tickets issued to an unidentified driver.

Wednesday, March 23

•4800 block of Indian Hill Road, EMS/AED response. Patrol reported AED unit was utilized and the subject as deceased. Party taken to Mount St. Mary's Hospital.

•4800 block of Saunders Settlement Road, fight. Patrol on location with NCSO who handled the call.

•Reports of vehicles in ditches. Locations on the 1600 block of Upper Mountain Road, the I-190 on ramp from Lewiston Road, the I-190 off ramp on Military Road, Military Road at the New York Power Authority, The Circle and Escarpment Drive, and Townline Road/Pekin Hill area. All calls addressed,

•Separate reports of one- and two-vehicle accidents. Locations on the 4300 block of Creek Road, the 3100 block of Creek Road, Lewiston Hill Road (two responses), Lewiston Road and Irving Drive, the Upper Mountain Road off ramp at Lewiston Road, and the 2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road (two calls), and the 800 block of Swann Road. Statements taken from all drivers involved. Reports filed.

•400 block of Irving Drive, burglary. Statement taken from a 27-year-old male; no further details. Report filed.

Thursday, March 24

•1500 block of Saunders Settlement Road, check welfare. Caller reported possible narcotics on a person; none found.

•Locations on the 1200 block of Swann Road and in the Mount St. Mary's parking area. Reports of vehicle accidents. Statements taken from the drivers; reports filed.

•900 block of Center Street, larceny complaint at a supermarket business. Statement taken from a female; suspect unknown.

8300 block of Center Street, officer requested, suspicious activity. A merchant reports finding large footprints around the property.

•700 block of Fairchild Place, larceny. Statement obtained from a 39-year-old who reported a quantity of 135 oxcodone taken. Suspect unknown.

•2000 block of Saunders Settlement Road, two-vehicle injury accident. Statements obtained from both drivers; driver No. 2 taken to Mount St. Mary's by Lewiston No. 2 Volunteer Fire Co. Both vehicles secured; report filed.

•Niagara University campus, hit-run accident. Statement obtained from driver No. 1; plate number logged. Report filed.

Friday, March 25

•Locations on North Sixth Street and the 100 block of South Eighth Street, separate reports of two vehicle accidents. Statements obtained from all drivers. No injuries, no tows and MV forms issued. Reports filed.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, attempt to locate intoxicated driver. Patrol reported the arrest of a 30-year-old female; charge not specified. Suspect released on an appearance ticket to Lewiston Town Court. Vehicle secured; report filed.

•2000 block of Upper Mountain Road, criminal mischief. NCSO responded on a call of a rock versus a window.

•300 block of Center Street, check-the-welfare. Patrol escorted a 21-year-old female to a Harper Drive address.

•Ridge and Model City roads, fight at a bar/restaurant. All parties gone on patrol's arrival.

Saturday, March 26

•Center Street at Portage Road, DWI-vehicle check. Patrol reported the arrest of a 22-year-old male for driving while intoxicated. Blood alcohol content testing performed; BAC result, .16 of 1 percent of alcohol. Bail of $250 assigned and subject remanded to the Niagara County Jail. Vehicle towed; report filed.

•1300 block of Swann Road, arson/criminal mischief. Statement taken from a 48-year-old male who reported his mailbox was set on fire by an unknown person. Report filed.

•900 block of Youngstown-Lockport Road, check-the-welfare. Patrol report all OK with an elderly woman.

•100 block of Tuscarora Street, larceny complaint. Statement taken from a 27-year-old male who reported the theft of a guitar, value $1,500. Suspect listed as a 25-year-old male. Investigation to continue. Report filed.

•1700 block of Mount Hope Road, stolen ATV. Statement taken from a 54-year-old female; report filed.

•Eddy Drive West at Lauren Court, and on Mohawk Street, calls of a suspicious vehicle. Patrol reported the driver on both calls as a private investigator who was working in the area.

•NU campus, two-car accident. Statements taken from both drivers. Patrol reported driver No. 1, a 53-year-old male, was issued a uniform traffic ticket, returnable to Lewiston Town Court, for leaving the scene of an accident. No injuries or tows; report filed.

Sunday, March 27

•4000 block of Dickersonville Road, fire. Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. on location for a small brush fire.

•400 block of Chicora Road, loud party. Call unfounded.

•900 block of Mohawk Street, auto-stripping complaint. Patrol reported the vehicle as secure with nothing taken and no damage. Call cleared.

•5800 block of Ward Road, alarm response. State Police reported all secure prior to LPD's arrival.

•NU campus, two-vehicle accident. Statements taken from both drivers. Report filed

•Water Street, suspicious males. Patrol reported all OK.
