The grand opening of Monkey'N Around Music & More, a new children's music and creative arts studio in the Town of Niagara, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2.

Free demonstration classes and special discounts will be offered by Amy Teal, a state-certified music teacher, who is the owner/ operator. She has been teaching Kindermusik (children's music and movement) classes in the Lewiston, Wheatfield and Niagara Falls areas for the past 10 years and has always dreamed of having her own space to expand her offerings. That dream became a reality on Feb. 28, when Teal opened the doors to her new Monkey'N Around Music & More at 4613 Military Road.

Monkey'N Around is a clean, bright, safe facility where children and parents can have fun, learn and build lasting memories. Programs for babies and children ages 6 weeks to 10 years are offered at the new location. Classes include: Kindermusik, creative drama, Mommy & Me art and preschool art, baby sign language classes, preschool and group piano classes, play dates, Parent's Night Out, summer camps and birthday parties. Classes are broken up by age and space is limited to 12 to 15 students per class.

"Research shows that music and movement are key to learning and can actually make our children smarter" said Teal. "Programs are designed to aid in baby's brain development and offer parent's valuable insight into the purpose and benefits of the activities presented in class."

Prices at Monkey'N Around are kept affordable and most cost just $10 a week when paid in advance for the semester. Play dates cost as little as $5 for those enrolled in a class. Discounts are available as well for siblings, multi-class enrollment and referrals. Additional coupons are available to those who subscribe to the email list.

Most programs like this are available only to stay-at-home moms. However, as a former music teacher (and working mom herself) in the Niagara-Wheatfield School District, Teal recognized the desire of many working families to have the opportunity to participate and enjoy this special time with their children as well. Monkey'N Around is one of the only locations that offers evening classes for the 0-5 age group.

Those interested in trying a free demonstration class during the grand opening should call Monkey'N Around at 474-7504 to reserve a spot. Class schedules and prices will also be available that day or may be obtained by calling Monkey'N Around or visiting www.monkeynaroundmusicandmore.com.
