Western Door Paranormal will present an evening of ghostly fun at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Lewiston Opera Hall, 732 Center St., Lewiston.

Michelle Kratts, Lewiston Library's genealogy and local history expert, will open the evening with a brief history of the building, which was built in 1832 by Joseph Hewitt. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), the current owners of the building and hosts for the evening, have held meetings there twice a month since the 1870s.

The audience will watch a screening of the video recorded at the Opera Hall one evening last fall, when members of WDP spent the night with cameras and microphones, documenting the mysterious after-hours inhabitants of the very old and historic building.

Finally, those who dare can accompany members of WDP on a ghost tour of the building.

Light refreshments will be available. This will be an all-ages event involving stairs, darkness, suspense and possible encounters with the paranormal.

Proceeds will go towards preserving and restoring the Lewiston Opera Hall, home of Sacarissa Bell Rose Lodge 307 IOOF.

Tony Burtis, founder and lead investigator of Western Door Paranormal said, "Although our group has been together about a year, I've been studying, researching and respecting the spirits for a long, long time. The goal of our group is to document the haunted places in Western New York, and develop programs that will be shown on public television."
