County population drops slightly over decade
The population of Niagara County is 216,469.
That number is the official 2010 count per the U.S. Census Bureau. It represents a 1.5 percent decrease from 2000's population of 219,844.
During the 2000s, two communities in Niagara County saw the largest swings in population: Niagara Falls, which shed 5,468 people, dropping 9.8 percent, and the town of Wheatfield, which saw its population jump by 28.6 percent, or 4,031 people.
