Lewiston gymnast shines in Orlando

Level 9 and 10 gymnasts from Gleason's School of Gymnastics traveled to Orlando, Fla., last month to compete in the Presidential Classic. The meet was held Feb. 19 and 20 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and was hosted by Twisters Gymnastics from Boca Raton, Fla. More than 1,700 gymnasts of various levels competed from all over the country.

Team Niagara members from Gleason's level 9 squad placed second in the team competition. Lara Curtis of Lewiston placed third on floor with 9.175, fifth on vault with 8.65, sixth on bars with 8.25 and eighth on beam with 8.05. She placed fifth all around with a 34.125. Curtis is a junior at Nardin Academy.
