The Buffalo Stars Junior B program will conduct a series of open scrimmage tryouts in April in order to select players for their 2011-12 Season Junior B teams.

The open scrimmage tryouts will conclude with the main tryout camp on April 30. The Buffalo Stars have a Junior B team in both the Empire Junior B Hockey League and the Continental Hockey Association Junior B League.

Open tryout scrimmage sessions will take place at Holiday Twin Rinks as follows:

•Monday, April 4: 4-6 p.m. (cost $25)

•Wednesday, April 6: 8:45-10:30 p.m. (cost $20)

•Wednesday, April 13: 7:15-8:45 p.m. (cost $20)

•Wednesday, April 20: 7:45-9:15 p.m. (cost $20)

•Wednesday, April 27: 7:45-9:15 p.m. (cost $20)

Scrimmages are open to players in the 1996 through 1991 birth year.

Walk-on players for these open sessions are welcome however, pre-registration is strongly recommended. Goaltenders must pre-register, as there will be limited positions available for goaltenders. Players can sign up for all five open scrimmage sessions for $75.

The final tryout camp will take place on Saturday, April 30, between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This final tryout will be by invitation only.

Players selected for the Buffalo Stars will begin skating in May with twice-weekly on-ice and off-ice sessions in May and June. In July, players will skate once per week, but the off-ice training will continue. Full training camp begins in August with on-ice and off-ice sessions three times a week. Training camp will also include a midwest trip and a segment in Lake Placid at the Olympic Training Center. A full calendar of spring/summer training will be published shortly.

Tryout players can download a copy of the Buffalo Stars Recruitment Guide online at: www.buffalostars.com; they can also download a pre-registration application from the website.
