Big R announces sponsorship renewals

As plans continue for its May 6, season opener, Ransomville Speedway announced last week the renewing of sponsorship programs for 2011 with Budweiser, Labatt, Bobcat of Buffalo, and Modern Corporation. "These businesses have been a part of Ransomville Speedway for many years," said Tana Robinson, Ransomville marketing and PR director. "They believe in the advertising benefits auto racing provides and we can't thank them enough for their involvement at the Big R."

Budweiser and Labatt are distributed through Try-It Distributing of Lancaster. Budweiser will continue as the official sponsor of the VIP tower suites, known as the Bud Towers. Labatt is a co-sponsor of the Battle at the Border, slated for Friday, July 1.

Robinson also announced that Labatt has teamed up with Waste Management for the $5,000 to Win Modified event, also taking place July 1. And Labatt will continue its brand recognition at the Big R through billboard signage and advertising in the Ransomville Laps program. Fans should look for T-shirt and hat give-aways on July 1 along with a few surprises throughout the season compliments of Labatt and Try-It Distributing.

Bobcat of Buffalo has been a supporter of local auto racing for years. Robinson notes that in 2010 racing saw the passing of one its greatest fans, as John Freundschuh, owner and operator of Bobcat of Buffalo, lost his battle with cancer. His son Tim has taken over the family business and looks to continue the tradition of Bobcat of Buffalo's involvement with the Big R through signage and the official naming rights of the newly formed Fireball Division. All racers in the Fireball class will include a Bobcat of Buffalo sticker on the grandstand side of their cars this season.

Modern Corporation, which has hosted a company outing for the past several seasons at Ransomville Speedway, returns again this year. On June 17, Modern will bring their employees to the Big R for night of action-packed entertainment.

Wrapping up, the Big R reminds 2011 season drivers of the following: A rules and membership meeting will take place Sunday, Feb. 27, and the annual test, tune, and time session will be Friday, April 29.
