The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University will present, for the third consecutive year, eight "Meet Me at the CAM" programs this spring. These educational art history programs run from 10 a.m. to noon and feature films, guest speakers and facilitated discussions.

The first program will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22, and is titled "Art Meets Nature: Visions of Niagara from the Charles Rand Penney Collection." Speaking at the event will be Michael J. Beam, CAM curator of collections and exhibitions.

Thursday, March 3, marks the second program titled "The Art of Collecting Art" and features the speaker Gerald Mead, collector, artist/educator and independent curator. On Tuesday, April 19, Nancy Knechtel, art history professor at Niagara University and Niagara County Community College, will speak at the program titled "A Virtual Tour of Artists' Homes."

For the months of May and June, the museum will present a multi-part "Meet Me at the CAM" series focusing on great artworks and museums. This year's theme is "The Private Life of a Masterpiece." Programs will be held on five consecutive Thursdays: May 26, June 2, 9, 16 and 23.

Coordinator of events, publicity, memberships and sponsorships, Susan Clements, referred to the event as, "The perfect program for people who are interested in art and learning more about it in a friendly and non-intimidating setting."

Light refreshments will be served at the programs. Admission is free, but Castellani Art Museum membership is required to attend. Annual membership dues (just $15 for seniors) come with a variety of benefits, including this free lecture series.

Membership sign-up is available at the registration table at each lecture. Membership applications may also be downloaded at www.castellaniartmuseum.org.

"These programs are for people who are interested in life-long learning," remarked Clements. "Art is for everyone, so come on in, and we will share our knowledge with you."

For more information or to register, contact Clements at 286-8201.
