NBC viewers set to be taken behind the scenes of royal marriage

NBC will take viewers behind the scenes of the most anticipated royal wedding of the century - the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton - in "Inside the Royal Wedding," an exclusive documentary special hosted by NBC "Today's" Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira, on Wednesday, April 27 (8 p.m. ET).

The observational special will provide a prelude to the big event on Friday, April 29. "Inside the Royal Wedding" will have access as it reveals the extensive preparations behind such a memorable global spectacle and will introduce the audience to the people who are directly involved with many aspects of the modern-day royal wedding. As a result, tension and drama ensue as details from dress design and flowers to the guest list and cake assume monumental proportions.

Cameras will follow the wedding's prime movers over four months beginning in January through April 2011. On display will be an assortment of characters from all walks of life who are directly involved with every aspect of the wedding preparations, which will conclude with the royal procession, the ceremony at Westminster Abbey and ultimately, the happy couple's return to the palace.

Throughout the build-up to the wedding, cameras will be there as decisions are taken and best-laid plans are put in place. The final part of the special will be shot during the week before the wedding as last-minute plans come together.

"Inside the Royal Wedding" is produced by Spun Gold TV with Nick Bullen and Olivia Lichtenstein serving as executive producers.
