The Niagara County and the Town of Porter Democratic committees are sponsoring a food collection drive in the Town of Porter.

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the Youngstown VFW Post, located at 434 Third St., in the Village of Youngstown, on Saturday, Jan. 29, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Members of the Town of Porter Democratic Committee will accept non-perishable items between the specified hours.

Newly elected Porter Democratic Committee co-chairs Ernest Lavigueur and Beverly Van Deusen announced the food collected will benefit the newly established Ransomville Services Food Pantry.  The RCS Food Pantry is hosted by the Ransomville Free Methodist Church and provides services to qualifying individuals in Lewiston, Ransomville and Youngstown zip code areas.

For more information regarding the food pantry, call 791-3855.

Organizers ask readers to be generous, and stop by with a donation to help your neighbors.
