Lewiston Police Blotter for Jan. 8, 2011

The following activity occurred Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, to Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. A total of 74 calls were answered by LPD during this period.

Monday, Dec. 27

•400 block of Main Street in Youngstown, alarm response. Patrol reported the building as secure; no key holder. Patrol cleared.

•Unspecified location, follow-up. Patrol reported the arrest of a 38-year-old female from an earlier domestic call on the 900 block of Center Street. Appearance ticket issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

•700 block of Ridge Road, standby. Patrol reported a 19-year-old female removed personal items from the address. No problems.

•5500 block of Walmore Road, check welfare. Patrol reported three responses to the address. On the first response a 53-year-old male was interviewed and no problems reported. A second call soon after was listed as a domestic response, with the 53-year-old male again interviewed and a 28-year-old male listed as a suspect. Domestic incident report filed and no charges at this time. Patrol cleared both calls. On patrol's third response, a warrant execution on the 28-year-old male was carried out on a warrant out of Syracuse. Suspect transferred to custody of Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Report filed.

•Lewiston Road, separate calls of motor vehicle accidents. Both drivers left the scene on the first call and followed up with patrol. Statement taken from one driver on the second call and state Department of Transportation notified of a downed sign. Reports filed.

•400 block of Brookshire Road in Youngstown, follow-up. Patrol answered resident's concerns on an accident. Patrol cleared.

Tuesday, Dec. 28

•900 block of Escarpment Drive, suspicious person. Patrol advised an ex-boyfriend of the complainant to leave the driveway and not return; subject complied. Patrol cleared.

•4700 block of Townline Road, car-deer accident. Statement taken from the driver; deer out of service and DOT notified. Report filed.

•4200 block of Ransomville Road, boyfriend/girlfriend domestic. Statement taken from a 28-year-old female regarding a 34-year-old male. No charges wished by the female who left for the evening and was to contact NCSO for standby to remove items. Domestic incident report and patrol's report both filed.

•5900 block of Miller Road, standby. A male retrieved a vehicle without incident; patrol cleared.

•900 block of Seneca Street, alarm response. All secure; owner on site.

•Creek Road, reckless driver. Plate number logged; no problems reported.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, counterfeit currency at a gas/convenience business. Statement taken from a 62-year-old male. A $10 bill was seized and property receipt issued. Report filed.

•900 block of Center Street, custody issue. Patrol spoke with a male and female and advised the couple that ownership of a dog is a civil matter. Patrol cleared.

•900 block of Center Street, unauthorized use of vehicle. Statement taken from a 27-year-old male regarding a 24-year-old female. Patrol spoke with the female who agreed to return the vehicle.

Wednesday, Dec. 29

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, counterfeit currency at a gas/convenience business. Statement taken from a 25-year-old male; report filed.

•LPD office, walk-up harassment complaint. Patrol advised a 48-year-old male to contact NCS0 as the incident occurred on Balmer Road.

•1000 block of Sweet Home Road, check welfare. Patrol advised of newspapers piling up at a residence. Resident found to be out of town; all OK.

•600 block of Pletcher Road, alarm response at the Hickory Stick Golf Course. Key holder on scene; all OK.

•Unspecified location, suspicious activity. Statement taken from a 39-year-old male at a gas/convenience business of a male who has been making cigarette purchases with multiple credit cards that won't scan. All purchases then manually transacted and found to be valid. No further details.

•Niagara University campus, O'Shea Hall, stolen license plate. Statement taken from a 20-year-old female; NCSO contacted.

Thursday, Dec. 30

•5400 block of Walmore Road, check 911 call, static on the line. Patrol spoke with employees on site and reported phone problems. Patrol cleared.

•Military and Lewiston roads and on Lower River Road, separate reckless driver complaints. Both areas checked, with negative results.

•5000 block of Bronson Drive, larceny complaint. Statements taken from a male and female, ages 70 and 68 years old, who reported that an unknown person took $10 from their vehicle.

•1500 block of Upper Mountain Road, unattended death of a 73-year-old female. Niagara County coroner on location.

•4100 block of Calkins Road, AED call for a male complaining of chest pains. Party transported to Millard Fillmore Hospital.

•Ridge and Dickersonville roads, three-vehicle accident. Statements taken from all drivers. All vehicles secured. Report filed.

•Lewiston Road, reckless driver complaint, reported as two vehicles racing. Vehicles gone on patrol's arrival.

•2100 block of Upper Mountain Road, domestic. Only one party found on location; no report wished.

•Center Street, debris in the roadway. Village DPW contacted and removed splinters.

•Youngstown Road, assist. Patrol on location with NCSO for a reckless driver/accident. Vehicle reportedly struck trees and fled the area.

Friday, Dec. 31

•1100 block of Escarpment Drive, officer requested. Patrol advised of leaking water lines inside a residence and had to gain entry. Homeowner out of town.

•NU campus, O'Shea hall, stolen plate. Statement taken from a 23-year-old male who was advised to contact British Columbia DMV for new plates.

•700 block of Center Street, larceny at a business. Statement taken from a 56-year-old female regarding a 56-year-old male, two suspects - one male, one female - and the larceny of clothing. Vehicle identified and plate number logged. Investigation to continue.

•Center and Fifth streets, two-vehicle accident. Statements taken from both drivers; report filed.

•900 block of Ridge Road, trespass. Patrol spoke with a 56-year-old male who resolved an issue with men cutting trees.

•500 block of Susies Lane, unwanted party/foot chase. Statement taken from a 41-year-old female regarding a 16-year-old male juvenile and reported damage to a vehicle and a trailer. No charges wished at this time.

•Lewiston Road, separate calls of reckless drivers. First call, plate number logged and all found OK. Second call, vehicle located on Forrest Road and driver reportedly was lost.

Saturday, Jan. 1

•5500 block of Walmore Road, unwanted person. Patrol spoke with a 38-year-old female and a 50-year-old male regarding a 51-year-old female. Call handled by patrol.

•800 block of Center Street, DWI. Patrol reported the arrest of a 26-year-old male for driving while intoxicated, driving with more than .08 of 1 percent of alcohol, refusal of breath screening test, and drug-related possession offenses. Driver arraigned at Lewiston Town Court, bail of $2,000/$4,000 set and driver remanded to custody of NCSO. Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. on location. Report filed.

•700 block of Ridge Road, vehicle in a ditch. Plate number logged and vehicle towed.

•5700 block of Lewiston Road, violation of a court order. Statement taken from a male regarding a 33-year-old female. Report filed.

•900 block of Elliot Drive, larceny. Statement taken from a 68-year-old male; report filed.

•5000 block of Susies Lane, custody dispute. Statement taken from a 41-year-old female regarding a 46-year-old male. Incident report filed.

•Intersections of North Eighth and Onondaga and North Seventh and Onondaga streets, stop signs removed. Patrol reported Village of Lewiston DPW on scene to put up portable signs.

Sunday, Jan. 2

•Lower River Road area, patrol check for an accident. Cell phone call of a reported accident between Pletcher Road and Dutton Drive found to have occurred directly across the river in Canada.

•700 block of Cayuga Street, disturbing the peace complaint at a pizzeria business. Parties advised to quiet it down.

•Locations at Saunders Settlement and Bridgeman roads, Saunders Settlement and Military roads, Upper Mountain and Military roads, and on Saunders Settlement Road (unspecified), reports of vehicles towed. All vehicles towed on violations of operation while the registration is suspended/revoked. No further details.

•1500 block of Ridge Road, EMS/AED response. Lewiston No. 1 transported an elderly female to Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center.

•500 block of Briarwood Lane, officer requested. Patrol reported a violation of a court order; no further details. Report filed.

•Military Road/Elsa Place, assist. Patrol assisted NCSO with a foot chase of a suspect. Suspect detained; no further details.
