New businesses in Ransomville, Sanborn

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce reports two new area businesses have opened their doors over past days.

In Ransomville, Country Charm is located at 2568 Youngstown-Lockport Road and is owned and operated by Janet Demmin. The store features a variety of homemade crafts, including woodwork painted by Demmin.

On hand for the ribbon-cutting were (shown first photo, from left) Jeff Baker, Town of Porter councilman and NRRCC board member; Demmin; Gloria Baker, First Niagara Bank, Lewiston branch, and NRRCC board member; and Mert Wiepert, Town of Porter supervisor.

Country Charm is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursday until 7 p.m. For more information, call 791-3141.

In Sanborn, Picket Fence Wine & Liquor celebrated a grand opening with the Chamber of Commerce and the Sanborn Business and Professional Association.

Located at 5837 Buffalo St., the new store is owned and operated by Mark and Julie DiPietro, recipients of the chamber's 2010 Sanborn Business of the Year for their restaurant business, Tina's Place.
