Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce board Chairman George Osborne announced Wednesday that, at a meeting of the board of directors earlier in the morning, the board voted to appoint Jennifer Pauly as president.

Pauly replaces David P. Lacki.

She joined the Chamber of Commerce as marketing and events manager in October 2009 after serving as the marketing manager for Smokin Joes Trading Post, Snow Park Niagara and the Quality Hotel & Suites "At the Falls." Pauly brings more than 10 years experience in marketing, tourism and special event planning to the Niagara River Region.

After completing her studies in music education at SUNY Fredonia -- where she served as Student Association president -- Pauly held positions in marketing at local non-profit cultural organizations, including Studio Arena Theatre and Artpark & Co.

A resident of Sanborn, Pauly is active in community events alongside her husband, Martin, and three daughters. She volunteers as an adviser with the Lewiston Kiwanis Peach Queen scholarship program for young women and is a part-time music instructor at Lewiston Music.

In making the announcement, Osborne said, "We are very fortunate to have someone with Jennifer's talent and expertise available to step in and immediately fill this key position. The Chamber of Commerce board of directors is looking forward to a new era of growth and success under Jennifer's leadership."

The mission of the Chamber of Commerce is to coordinate efforts in the marketing and promotion of tourism, business development, quality of life and the history and culture of the region, and to enhance business and community cooperation among stakeholders.
