The first official ghost walk at Oakwood Cemetery, 763 Portage Road in Niagara Falls, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29.

Take a guided tour through the cemetery, founded in 1852, and "meet" 20 of its residents. Town of Niagara Supervisor Steve Richards, member of the local Dark Starr Paranormal Research Society, will be leading tours through the 1913-vintage mausoleum, which was designed by E.B. Green.

Oakwood was the original cemetery for the Town of Niagara and many early residents are buried there.

Bring a flashlight or lantern to the ghost walk. Upon entering the cemetery, stop at the office to register and receive a wristband. Cost is $15. Coffee and doughnuts will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the event will go toward the preservation and restoration of Oakwood Cemetery.

Rain date will be Saturday, Oct. 30.
