Instructors from the Lewiston Dance Center celebrated the first-ever National Dance Day at the University of Buffalo, taking part in the Buffalo Dance Festival. The event was a daylong workshop with local dance companies and university instructors. The master class artists included Joseph Cipolla from Configuration Dance Theatre; Bill Evans from Bill Evans Dance Company and a professor at SUNY Brockport; Jon Lehrer from Lehrer Dance; and Tom Ralabate, a professor at UB.

"It is so important to continually educate yourself," says Rachel Novelli, owner/operator of the Lewiston Dance Center. "We are responsible for teaching the art of dance to the young people of our community. The more dance experiences we open ourselves to, the better we can do that job."

The instructors that took part in the master classes were Patti Hewitt, Novelli, Lauren Green (who was also an assistant to Ralabate and Lehrer), and assistant instructors Cori Raybon and Krista Kajfasz.
