State Assembly Candidate John Ceretto welcomed the endorsement this week of Unshackle Upstate, a bipartisan coalition of more than 80 business and trade organizations representing upwards of 70,000 companies and employing more than 1.5 million people.

"Unshackle Upstate is an organization that is committed to bringing good-paying jobs to upstate and Western New York and I am honored to have their endorsement," Ceretto said. "If elected, I have pledged to put Niagara County first and the downstate liberal elites last."

"Unshackle Upstate is pleased to endorse John Ceretto for State Assembly in the 138th District," said Brian Sampson, executive director of Unshackle Upstate. "As a Niagara County legislator, Mr. Ceretto has continually fought to encourage businesses to grow, while keeping taxes low. John Ceretto shares the ideals of the Unshackle Upstate agenda and will maintain his commitment to Upstate New York's taxpayers once elected to the Assembly."

Unshackle Upstate has endorsed in just 15 of 150 Assembly races statewide this year.

"I believe it is no accident that Unshackle Upstate chose the 138th Assembly District to be just one of 15 Assembly races to endorse in," Ceretto said. "I am the only candidate in this race that can claim to be a taxpayer advocate. Residents have seen me fight the Bridge Commission, they have seen me take NYPA to court over the blatant theft of resources from Niagara Power Project, and they have seen me stand up to utilities companies in the face of rising prices and dropping temperatures. My record is clear and I am proud that I have earned this endorsement."

The 138th Assembly District is made up of the City of Niagara Falls and the Towns of Cambria, Hartland, Lewiston, Newfane, Niagara, Porter, Wheatfield and Wilson.
