State Senator George Maziarz has endorsed Niagara County Legislator John Ceretto (R, I, Taxpayer) for the 138th New York State Assembly District. Ceretto faces incumbent Francine DelMonte and John Accardo of Niagara Falls in the Nov. 2 election.

"I need a partner in Albany who is going to work with me to do the right thing for our community, especially when it comes to the New York Power Authority," said Maziarz. "John Ceretto has already led the charge from the County Legislature by trying to stop the illegal sweep of money from the Niagara Power Project. He has also led the charge to pierce the veil of secrecy at the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, where public work is done behind closed doors. In addition, John has worked hard to curtail Medicaid fraud and waste. That's an impressive record and that is why I am proud to endorse John Ceretto's candidacy for State Assembly."

In response to the Maziarz endorsement, Ceretto released the following statement:

"I am honored to have the endorsement of Sen. Maziarz. There is important work to be done in Albany that can benefit Niagara County, and I look forward to having the opportunity to partner with Sen. Maziarz in accomplishing these goals. I am proud of my record of cutting taxes, reducing the size of government and standing up to the New York Power Authority and the Bridge Commission, and I am proud to have the support of Sen. George Maziarz."
