Artpark's 2010 season lineup of "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" concert series brought back some classic performers as well as several other blockbuster acts that made their debut on the amphitheater stage. The schedule, which ran from June 15 through Aug. 31, led to Artpark's highest "Tuesday in the Park" attendance levels ever. Organizers estimate more than 200,000 people ventured to Artpark on Tuesday nights to watch nationally renowned performers, including The Guess Who, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, the Doobie Brothers, Foreigner, Sara Evans, and The Machine.

In celebration of the season, The Artpark & Co. board and staff will host an Octoberfest event on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Embassy Suites at Avant in Buffalo. This casual event runs from 6 to 11 p.m. and features wine selections from the Premier Wine Group and beer varieties from Ellicotville Brewing Company; Sam Adams and Molson provided by Certo Brothers Distributing Company; wiener schnitzel, potato pancakes, bratwurst, Reuben sandwiches, and other German-style fare.

Additionally, Nikki Hicks Band, the 2008 Buffalo Music award winner for best female R&B artist, will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are $40 per person and may be purchased by calling 754-9000, ext. 124.

Artpark thanks its sponsors, volunteers, and patrons for making the season one for the books.
