Harvest Festival highlights upcoming River Region fall schedule

Celebrate the beginning of fall in the historic Village of Lewiston with the work of Western New York's talented crafters and jewelry artists. The Lewiston Harvest Festival & Craft Show will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, and Sunday, Sept. 26, along Center Street. The festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and is free and open to the public. More than 75 crafters will showcase their artwork, jewelry, woodwork, candles and handmade crafts throughout the weekend.

Hardison Funeral Home Inc is the featured sponsor for the 2010 event.

A variety of food vendors will offer culinary delights, including a Farmer's Market, located at South Fifth Street and Center Street, which will offer a variety of fall harvest favorites as well as a selection of wines from along the Niagara Wine Trail.

From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, The Brothers of Invention will perform outside of the Frontier House. On Sunday, the Hot Country Line Dancers will perform in the KeyBank parking lot at 12:30 p.m., and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Colt 45 Country Band will perform outside of the Frontier House. As an added attraction on Saturday and Sunday, Grammy Award-winning guitarist/composer Mike Smiarowski will perform at the Hennepin Park Gazebo.

The Lewiston Harvest Festival & Craft Show is the start of the fall events that take place in the Niagara River Region.  Celebrate the Town of Porter Cabbage Festival on Sunday, Oct. 3, The Scarecrow Display along the main streets in the four communities from Oct. 1-31, and the Winetique Festival on Oct. 17 in Sanborn.
