Lewistonians love pizza.

Within a five-minute drive, one can choose from Smith Bros., Vincenzo's, Casa Antica, DiCamillo's, Tops, Brio, and Favorite's. Each offers a different and distinct assortment of crusts, sauces and toppings. In short, there is no shortage of delicious deep dishes within the area.

The latter, Favorite's, has gained popularity of late with a sizable and eclectic selection of pizza slices. On a recent afternoon jaunt through the village, Left of Center noticed a sizeable lunch line at the restaurant. The quantity of people was surpassed only by the quantity of choices: a dozen different flavors -- plus stromboli -- all lined the inside of a new, specialty warming case.

Having recently taken over the operation, owner Chuck Brigham has prided himself on offering an incredible assortment of pizzas. In addition to the ample selection of slices, patrons can order more than 20 different types of pies or trays.

But that's not all. Favorite's offers more than 30 -- 30! -- varieties of subs and hoagies. The restaurant also offers chicken wings, chicken fingers, wraps, pitas, quesadillas, sides (fries, rings, sticks), salads, dinners and desserts.

Favorite's is located at 781 Cayuga St., inside the Mini Plaza. To place an order (seven days a week), call 754-8880 or 754-9195.
