Members of the Historical Society of North German Settlements in Western New York, who operate Das Haus in Bergholz, will be part of the North Tonawanda History Museum's Canal Fest week activities.

Costumed representatives will be present from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, to share exhibits and discuss the North German (Prussian) history of the Town of Wheatfield.

North Tonawanda was part of the Town of Wheatfield from 1836 when the town was established until the City of North Tonawanda was established on April 24, 1897. The two historical organizations have worked closely together since the History Museum was established in order to preserve and present properly the shared history of the Town of Wheatfield and the City of North Tonawanda.

Museum hours for Canal Fest week will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 18 to 24 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 25. Many special exhibits, music, dance, presentations, video presentations, children's activities and speakers are planned at the museum during Canal Fest.

The museum is located at 54 Webster St., North Tonawanda.
