Rachel Parker, a senior at Newfane Central School, recently was awarded the 2010 "Member Child" Lewiston-Porter United Teachers Scholarship of $1,000. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding senior who is a child of a member of the LPUT. The candidate must demonstrate high academic achievement, leadership skills, community involvement and athletics. Rachel is the daughter of Thomas and Maryann Parker who are both teachers at Lewiston-Porter. Rachel will be attending the University at Buffalo in the fall as a pharmacy major and intends to run cross-country and track.
