'Wild' events at the Wildlife Festival
The New York Power Authority hosted the 26th annual Wildlife Festival this past weekend. Featured at the event were exotic wildlife, their handlers, informational sessions about the creatures and numerous activities for family members of all ages to participate in. Some of the exciting moments from the festival were captured below.
Steven Harris, 14, of Lockport, had the opportunity to shoot a crossbow under the watchful eye of Stan Culverwell of the Wilson Conservation Club. Tim Moorhouse, 9, from Cub Scout Pack 104, caught a rainbow trout in the Niagara River Anglers fishing pond. Senior Wildlife Biologist Connie Adams showed some of the items on the DEC display to Mike George of Niagara Falls.
The police dog demonstrations throughout the event were a popular attraction. Also, the Nickel City Reptiles show held the interest of kids of all ages.
