Upstate Niagara Cooperative Inc. is one of many milk processors throughout the nation that has been affected by an unexpected school milk packaging supply disruption. Unfortunately, a significant industry supplier of half-pint milk carton packaging is experiencing operational challenges. This is negatively impacting their ability to fully supply school milk packaging orders.
Buffalo man pleads guilty for beating victim with wood board

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 36-year-old Richard C. Frazier of Buffalo pleaded guilty yesterday morning before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to one count of attempted assault in the first degree (class "C" violent felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest count in the indictment against him.

Artpark & Company held its annual meeting at The Buffalo Club on Oct. 18. Senior leadership - President Sonia Clark and Vice President Dave Wedekindt - reported to the board of directors on the organization's highlights and accomplishments for its 50th season. The 2023 campaign featured 189 events, workshops and programs that served nearly 100,000 visitors. Artpark & Company's estimated economic impact to the region was $9.7 million.

Congressman Brian Higgins welcomed the news that the government of Canada is giving owners affected by the Underused Housing Tax until April 30, 2024, to file 2022 taxes without penalties. The announcement of the extension comes days after Higgins, who serves as co-chair of the Northern Border Caucus, called for a suspension of tax collection until the findings of a cost-benefit analysis and a House of Commons report are released.
