The western shore of New York state from Buffalo to the Pennsylvania border is impacted by seiche (pronounced saysh) events. Seiches are the result of wind blowing a sizeable standing wave across Lake Erie and onto the shoreline, causing flooding, rapid and intense erosion, deposition of sand and debris, potential hazardous conditions, such as rip currents, and risk to life.

The CW Network will become the official broadcast home to "WWE NXT" in October 2024. The five-year agreement marks the first time in its 13-year history that "WWE NXT" - which showcases WWE's hottest up-and-coming Superstars - will air on a broadcast television network. Niagara County Sheriff Michael J. Filicetti announced the continued multisite expansion of the Niagara County Public Safety Radio Network has been completed. This latest expansion includes tower sites in the towns of Wheatfield, Wilson and Somerset. These sites were selected to enhance coverage areas for the digital radio system, which is utilized by police, fire, EMS and other government agencies in Niagara County.

NFPD responds to shooting
