On Good Friday, Niagara Gospel Mission Executive Director the Rev. John Cooper Jr. will finish his 222-mile ruck march to raise funds to expand the RECON recovery program for homeless veterans. His march will conclude at 11 a.m. at the Hyde Park Veterans Memorial in Niagara Falls.

NYS: More than 24,000 tickets issued during impaired driving enforcement mobilization

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced law enforcement agencies throughout the state issued 24,699 tickets for various vehicle and traffic law violations, including 935 tickets for impaired driving, during a statewide mobilization targeting impaired drivers before, during and after St. Patrick's Day. The enforcement period ran from March 15-17.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced low-cost power awards to 11 firms to spur more than $5.2 billion in capital investments. The awards, approved by the New York Power Authority board of trustees, support 5,781 jobs throughout the state. In addition, two funding awards, totaling more than $1 million, were awarded to two firms in Western New York, including the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center.
