Bill Baldwin, a park entertainer for nearly 30 years who played Black Bart - among many roles - in the popular Western shows, proudly said he was shot and fell to the ground in Western Town 28,678 times during his Fantasy Island career. Upon hearing the park was closing, he contacted his friend, Jay Wilcox, a maintenance supervisor at the park for 20 years and now chief operating officer of Empire Adventures Inc. They began brainstorming about what it would take to bring the park back under local ownership and led by a team of former employees.

Ronnie Mansour had one word to describe his exuberance of the successful "Fuccillo Feeds the Front Lines" promotion being held this month: "HUUUGE," bellowed the general manager of Fuccillo Chevrolet on Grand Island in his best Billy Fuccillo Sr. voice. His team delivered enough meals from the Brick Oven Pizzeria & Pub to feed more than 100 members of the Island's police and fire departments on June 18.

The Buffalo City Mission received a $20,000 donation from Citi, in collaboration with the National Disability Institute (NDI), to help advance its work with the homeless community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Mission is one of just 39 national community-based nonprofit organizations to receive a share of a $1 million donation from Citi, which is helping organizations provide direct services to low-income people with disabilities.

Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. (ECHDC) and Be Our Guest are encouraging visitors to the Buffalo Waterfront to engage in responsible recreation during the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis. Their recommendations incorporate guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New York State Department of Health for reducing the spread of infectious diseases. They encourage everyone to "enjoy local recreation areas while, practicing social distancing and using common sense to protect themselves and others."

Whitney, P.E., joined the Town of Grand Island's Department of Engineering & Water Resources in 1986, the force main sewer line from the South Grand Island Bridge to Whitehaven Road was only 8 years old. The family-owned and operated Hartman's Distilling Co. on Chicago Street in Buffalo, which normally focuses on the production of bourbon, rye, vodka, gin and craft cocktails, has shifted much of its production to bottles of hand sanitizers because of the COVID-19 crisis.
