Niagara County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski hosted a brief ceremony on Tuesday to open a display of the Niagara County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and the "Our Photo Album" exhibit featuring photos taken by Vietnam veterans during their tours of duty. The display will be open at least through Veteran's Day (Thursday, Nov. 11) at the Niagara County Courthouse in Lockport.

Tuesday morning, at the "Murmuration" art installation, New York nonprofit organization Parks & Trails New York presented a "big check" to Artpark & Company. This was done to acknowledge a $50,000 award to create a comprehensive wayfinding system and incorporate public Wi-Fi along Artpark's pathways. The goal is to provide data access to a diverse demographic of visitors, and to serve as a functional necessity for an interactive signage system and data collection.

The mall has teamed up with the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's breast and prostate peer education program to promote how early detection can save lives. Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday announced the beginning of construction for a new, $46 million state-of-the-art visitor center in Niagara Falls State Park. The new facility, her team said, "will be a gateway to adventure along the Niagara River Corridor, greatly improving the visitor experience, complementing nature, and increasing the length of visits within the park in all four seasons. The newly built center will welcome new and returning sightseers, enhancing awareness of regional recreational and cultural offerings."

Mayor Robert Restaino invited stakeholders in the Niagara Falls community to discuss plans for a new, multifaceted year-round event campus. Thursday afternoon at City Hall, Restaino, alongside his partners at CJS Architects, presented initial renderings of everything the facility has to offer both tourists and residents of Niagara Falls. This is one of seven stakeholder meetings in the Niagara Falls community.

Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. met Tuesday and authorized construction contracts totaling $13 million for the Terminal B renovations project on Buffalo's Outer Harbor. The project will create a new outdoor events center and surrounding open space by rehabilitating a vacant structure and utilizing existing parking, while reclaiming seven acres of contaminated property to open additional public access with new lake views.
