At the age of 11, Jack Dally began sailing at the Niagara Sailing Club on East River Road. It wasn't long before sailing was a big part of his life. He developed his skills by participating in the various sailing programs that the club offered for youth.

The St. Francis Guild and board of associates of Mount St. Mary's Hospital recently coordinated an Easter egg hunt on the hospital campus for Mount St. Mary's associates and their families. The event included a hunt for eggs, visit from the Easter Bunny, petting zoo and prizes for all attendees.

Niagara County Community College and Niagara Falls City Schools were part of the statewide "Women's Empowerment Draft" throughout the month of March. The two schools joined 24 other colleges and 30 grade schools to collectively celebrate Women's History Month. The program, created by Alfred University's Art Force 5, uses a pro-sports theme to build enthusiasm for historic icons.

Gov. Kathy Hochul and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz on Monday announced an agreement between New York state, Erie County and the NFL's Buffalo Bills franchise for a $1.4 billion new stadium in Orchard Park. Hochul's negotiations secured a 30-year commitment for the Bills to remain in Buffalo, and a combined $550 million from the NFL and Bills - approved by the NFL owners.

A little more than two years after the first pandemic restrictions came into effect, in letters to the U.S. and Canadian governments, Congressman Brian Higgins is calling on leaders to remove all pandemic-imposed border restrictions. His request comes as Canada is preparing to announce plans to drop the existing testing requirement for vaccinated travelers entering the country through airports and land ports, effective April 1.

On Tuesday, Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, directed the SBA to provide additional deferment of principal and interest payments for existing COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program borrowers.
