First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston hosts the Grammy-nominated Blackwood Gospel Quartet at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, in the Old Stone Church, 505 Cayuga St. The event begins with a pulled pork dinner and basket raffle from 5 until 6:30 p.m. in the social hall.

With its top concert acts already announced (and tickets on sale), the biggest news offered up by Buffalo Place executives Thursday was the relocating of its signature event. "Thursday at the Square" is moving from Lafayette Square to the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf at the end of June.

Darien Lake Theme Park Resort, New York's largest theme and water park vacation destination, opens for the 2011 season on May 14 with new family cabins, six new live shows and three in-park concerts including "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks and Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove. In-park concerts are free with admission and to season pass holders.

Armand Schultz, a 1981 graduate of Niagara University playing the role of the dad in the touring production of "Billy Elliot: The Musical," returned to his alma mater on Monday with Ryan Kasprzak, the show's dance captain and a popular former contestant on FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" television series. The duo attended theater classes before holding an afternoon question-and-answer session with students during their day off from the 10-time Tony Award-winning musical, which is on tour in Toronto through Sept. 3.

Artpark's "Theater Camp" returns (Aug. 15-19; $250) to offer young theater buffs an exclusive experience with professional cast members from Artpark's upcoming production of the original high school musical, "Fame." Camp Director Candice Kogut guides "Theater Camp" attendees through the principles of acting, singing, dancing, storytelling and more. As an added bonus, all "Theater Camp" enrollees will be treated to the Aug. 18 matinee presentation of Artpark's production of "Fame - The Musical." The camp culminates with a backstage theater tour and camper-created Mainstage performance on the final day.

"The Furies can be described in one word: fun," so said lead singer and "goddess of the tambourine" Rebecca Leigh. The Furies is an upbeat driving rock band that intersperses its original music into set lists. The band covers songs from artists ranging all the way from Lady Gaga to Led Zeppelin.
