Chicago Blackhawks forward and south Buffalo native Patrick Kane will bring two NHL trophies to Western New York on Saturday, Aug. 24. The Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy are slated to be at the base from 8:30 to approximately 11 a.m. Activities will be held in hangar 907.

The NHL and the Buffalo Sabres have announced the national television schedules for the 2013-14 season, with the Buffalo Sabres slated to have 70 of their games broadcast on MSG. The remaining 12 games will be broadcast in the U.S. on NBC or NBCSN.

On Thursday, Aug. 1, from 6:30 to 9 a.m., the Buffalo Fire Department will hold its annual "Fill the Boot" program, with this year's proceeds going to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research Team, or SMART. The firefighters will be joined by Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta, former Sabres players Andrew Peters, Darryl Shannon and other Sabres alumni on eight separate corners throughout the City of Buffalo to collect funds for the program.
