Lewiston-Porter Air Force JROTC hosting basketball fundraiser

The Lewiston-Porter High School Air Force Junior ROTC will host its fourth annual Cadets vs. Faculty Basketball Fundraiser on Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The Lewiston-Porter Players in Progress (PiPs) will perform during the game and the cadets will hold a basket raffle and selling concessions during the game.

The Ransomville Speedway 2013 season officially kicked off on Jan. 1 with the 13th annual Hangover 150. A great crowd was on hand to scratch that racing itch despite very chilly temperatures. State crossbow law expires Dec. 31

The provisions in the Environmental Conservation Law that allow the use of crossbows for big game hunting, as well as eliminate a permit requirement for hunters with physical disabilities to use special archery equipment during any big game or small game hunting season, will expire on Dec. 31, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens reminded hunters this week.
