Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night, the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the corner of South Avenue and Lockport Street for a report of a man shot. Upon arrival, an officer located a 24-year-old Niagara Falls resident suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Niagara University celebrated the completion of an $11.5 million renovation project at its Kiernan Recreation Center on Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Kathy Hochul on Monday submitted a request to President Joe Biden for a federal emergency declaration, as a result of the historic winter storm that began Thursday, Dec. 22, and continues to impact Western New York and the North Country regions. The storm brought blizzard-like conditions, sustained wind gusts of more than 60 miles per hour, and well-below-freezing temperatures through the holiday weekend.
