After a three-year hiatus, the Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise and Clambake is back for its 21st year. The event is scheduled for Friday, July 14, at the historic Youngstown Yacht Club, come rain or shine. Bringing his knowledge and experience in the theater, along with strong leadership and management skills, Bill Patti was selected as the next executive director of the Kenan Center. Patti officially began his duties on March 13, taking the time to learn about the operations of the nonprofit, meeting with staff and transitioning with Susan Przybyl, the former executive director who retired on March 31 after almost 25 years.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Thursday announced federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of New York to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe winter storm and snowstorm that occurred Dec. 23-28, 2022.
