Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday announced the grand opening of the new, $37 million DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in downtown Niagara Falls. The project, which included the demolition of a portion of the former Fallside Hotel and Conference Center, along with the renovation of a four-story section of the building, connects to a newly constructed nine-story tower.

The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls hosted the fourth annual Greater Niagara Fishing & Outdoor Expo over the weekend. The three-day event offered approximately 130 seminars. Visitors had the opportunity learn from experts about various specifies of fish, fishing techniques and other outdoor activities.
Gas prices drop slightly: Prices stabilize, but not for long

The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is now $2.31 per gallon, down 3 cents from last week, but up 47 cents from one year ago. The New York state average is $2.52 per gallon, down 2 cents from last week. A year ago, the state average was $2.11.
