Attorney General James to deliver up to $75 million to Western New York to combat opioid crisis

New York Attorney General Letitia James on Friday continued her statewide "HealNY" tour of New York state with a stop in Buffalo, where she announced she will deliver up to $75 million to Western New York to combat the opioid epidemic.
Erie County Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled for Grand Island High School on Oct. 25

The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) is partnering with Grand Island Central School District for a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 2-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25. Organizers will offer Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine; if supply is available, Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will be offered to people ages 18 and older.
Environmental concerns raised about proposed Long Road facility

The Erie County Department of Social Services announced applications for Home Energy Assistance Program regular benefits will be accepted beginning Friday, Oct. 1, approximately one month earlier than usual. This year, in light of continuing coronavirus-related concerns related to public gatherings, ECDSS is strongly encouraging applicants to apply online or to utilize other remote channels to apply. As in previous years, interested applicants are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later.

DEC proposes regulation allowing counties to opt out of holiday deer hunt

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos announced the release of a proposed regulation that, if adopted, would allow counties to opt out of the recently established end-of-year deer hunt, slated to occur annually between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. The "holiday hunt" is an extension of the late bow and muzzleloader deer season in New York's southern zone.
