Manslaughter leads to 17-year prison term

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Michael Hamilton, age 38, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced this morning to a term of 17 years in State Prison. Hamilton pled guilty in November of last year to manslaughter in the first degree for the death of Jason Chapman on Pine Ave in Niagara Falls on July 12, 2022.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Falls Street for a report of the robbery of a cab driver. The 36-year-old driver stated that, after picking up a customer and driving him to the 1700 block of Falls Street, the customer attempted to rob the cab driver.

This is a 16-week program for people who are at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.
