What says hometown America better than a beautiful and stirring fireworks display on July 4?

For years, the Village of Lewiston has shown our patriotic pride by organizing and securing donations for a firework show for all local communities to enjoy. This year, some of the funding from local municipalities was not provided, resulting in a shortfall.

This year's display will cost $8,330. The village has already received contributions from the Town of Lewiston, the Lewiston Kiwanis Club and local individuals, but they are still about $4,000 short.

Can you help by donating to offset the remaining costs and keep our local Independence Day tradition alive? We realize the goal is lofty, but if you can even donate $5 or $10, it would help toward reaching the goal. Any donations received above our goal will be used toward the 2016 display.

To donate, visit the mayor's office inside the Red Brick Municipal Building, 145 N. Fourth St., or visit online at http://www.gofundme.com/tsxpak.
